The Whitley Pump asked Reg Vastern-King, chair of the Friends of the IDR (Inner Distribution Road), what he thought about the Reading Borough Council (RBC) consultation on transport strategy; he was not impressed. “I just don’t understand,” he said “how can you carry out a transport strategy consultation which does not even ask how you feel about the IDR?”

Reading Family Church planning application approved again contrary to HSE advice

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Reading Family Church and Whitley councillor Emmett McKenna addressed the Reading Borough Council (RBC) planning committee on 5 December. The church has applied for a change of use of 448a Basingstoke Road so they can use it as a meeting space and community facility.
