On Saturday 21 June, a dedicated bunch of people from Katesgrove Community Association (KCA) turned out to tidy up the underpass by the old Hook and Tackle Pub, now known as the Namaste Kitchen, on Katesgrove Lane.

Mount Pleasant plot cleaned up after a community protection notice issued

Katesgrove councillor Rose Williams obtained a community protection notice for the vacant plot on Mount Pleasant in Reading, not far from the Pheasant pub, to be cleaned up and secured.

Community safety survey suggests 23% of Reading believes the town is a high crime area

Reading Borough Council (RBC) conducted a community safety survey last year which received 989 responses. 975 of the estimated 162,000 people living in Reading borough participated. Of the respondents, 23% thought that the crime level in Reading was high, and littering was the most commonly identified priority anti-social issue.
