A right Reading re-opening!

Reading Abbey’s much anticipated big day re-opening was well celebrated by visitors yesterday, 16 June. The formal cutting of the crimson and gold ribbons was undertaken by Reading Mayor, councillor Debs Edwards, and HM Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire James Puxley.

Town to Gown: the Reading Guild of Artists summer show

The Reading Guild of Artists (RGA) are staging their fifth summer show at the University of Reading’s Institute of Education at their London Road campus until 24 June. It features an exhibition by RGA’s talented members, highlights from the fabulous Whiteknights Studio Trail, and includes a showcase for inspirational final year work by BA Ed Art students.

Craft Theory at South Street

I missed out on the first Craft Theory festival at Katesgrove’s South Street Arts Centre last year, but I read the reviews with excitement and suffered a major case of FOMO [note 1]. I was in a unique position for the festival on 13 and 14 April this year; not only did I volunteer for Friday behind the jump [note 2], pouring drinks and loving it, but I also arrived bright-eyed on Saturday to spend the afternoon getting merry with my pals.
