It was a lovely cool day for running the Reading half marathon this year and a really good supportive and fun crowd were outside Christchurch; always a popular viewing spot.
An update on the controversial university and hospital area parking study will be presented to the traffic management sub-committee of Reading Borough Council on Wednesday 14 September.
Here at the international HQ of the Whitley Pump on top of Katesgrove Hill, we decided to celebrate our first birthday by ‘beating the bounds‘ of Katesgrove ward. This is a walk of over 4 miles around the perimeter of the ward, or as near to the perimeter as can be obtained without swimming or getting run over.

Enthusiastic new bowlers came to the ‘Learn to Bowl’ day held at Reading Bowling Club on Kendrick Road on 8 May. The bright spring sunshine and excellent coaching on the bowls green contributed to making the day a great success, and several local people signed up for this new summer activity.
Two Reading Borough Council consultations are taking place on proposed parking changes in the university and hospital area. The streets affected are in Redlands ward and along its boundaries.
