WCDA defibrillator unveiled in memory of Matthew Farrall

The Whitley Community Development Association (WCDA) unveiled its new public access defibrillator on 28 July. The device was bought with funds donated by the friends of Matthew Farrall, who died in April 2018. The defibrillator is designed to help resuscitate people suffering a heart attack and is attached to the external wall of the South Reading Community Hub at 252 Northumberland Avenue, Reading RG2 7QA.

Milman Road Health Centre gets a new website on 9 May

The new Milman Road Health Centre website, available from 9 May.

Milman Road Health Centre will get a new website on 9 May. Health centre manager Anne-Marie Dykes said that the new website will allow greater online interaction with the practice and help to reduce telephone traffic. She added that it will allow patients to communicate with the health centre when it suits them and the practice will aim to answer questions within two working days.

Patients’ opinions mixed on south Reading GP surgeries

NHS England published the results of their GP patient survey in July. The survey assessed patients’ experience of their GP practice across the country. The surgeries with the highest patient satisfaction in the town tended to be in Caversham and Tilehurst, while the surgeries with the lowest patient satisfaction clustered around Calcot, Whitley and the town centre.
