Open studios 2019 at John Lewis

Tom Cartmill in his studio

You can have coffee or lunch with a local artist at a Place to Eat in John Lewis (aka Heelas) on Broad Street in Reading. The department store is participating in this year’s West Berkshire and North Hampshire Open Studios until the end of May.

The walls of the café are hung with artworks in a variety of styles and media. I had elevenses in the Katesgrove Korner with two pieces by Tom Cartmill called Undertow and Reverberations.

Tom Cartmill opened his studio at Amners Farm as part of this event this weekend. The last day is Sunday 19 May and it is open 11am-5pm.
