How to dispose of your old Christmas tree

By Jason Hilbourne.

Reading Borough Council (RBC) have set up drop-off points in town car parks to allow people to dispose of their pine Christmas trees this January.

The RBC drop-off points are open until Friday 18 January; the trees will be woodchipped and used in landscaping.

Drop-off points locations includes the Whitley Wood recreation ground on Basingstoke Road and the South Reading Leisure Centre on Northumberland Avenue.

Trees can also be taken to the Smallmead recycling centre on the A33; don’t forget to take your orange permit!
