Xmas Message from Tony Page, deputy leader of Reading Borough Council

When we interviewed Tony Page recently we asked him for an alternative Xmas message to folk living on and around Katesgrove Hill that we could publish on Xmas day.

Councillor Page protested that he could not come up with anything to match the Queen’s Xmas broadcast.

Keep up the good work in terms of engaging with the local community, because it is even more important now that we have facilities such as yours [Whitley Pump] in the absence any really effective local press. The sad thing in Reading is to have witnessed the demise of a very good local press over the last few years.

Have a good Xmas and New Year. Seasons Greetings to everybody in the area and keep reading the Whitley Pump.

Above all, engage with your local community and the Council. We can make a difference and it is essential that people don’t give up, times aren’t easy for everybody but we can still deliver for local people.
