Summer road resurfacing in south Reading

Reading Borough Council (RBC) will be resurfacing roads all over town from 16 July until 15 August. Some of the work will be done overnight, and most involve road closures.

“The daytime works have been scheduled to coincide with the school holidays when roads are generally quieter, but there will inevitably be some inconvenience,” said RBC lead councillor for transport Tony Page. “We would ask road users to bear with us while these important improvement works take place.”

A total of 12 roads will be affected; only roads in south Reading are listed here.

London Street from the junction with Queen’s Road to the junction with London Road.
Monday 16 July to Friday 20 July (5 nights) from 7pm until 1am.
Road will be closed with a signed diversion route.

Redlands Road from no. 24 to the junction with London Road.
Thursday 2 August to Friday 3 August (2 days) from 9.30am until 3.30pm.
Road will be closed with a signed diversion route.

Southampton Street at the junction with Pell Street and Crown Street.
Friday 10 August to Wednesday 15 August (4 nights) from 7pm until 1am.
