Green Park Village to have a primary school by summer 2019

September

Reading Borough Council (RBC) planning committee on Wednesday 27 June will consider an application (180691) to build a school at Green Park Village.

The site of the school will be at the corner of Longwater Avenue and Flagstaff Road (to be constructed) which is currently partially occupied by the developer’s marketing suite. The classrooms, school hall, offices and staff rooms will be houses in three linked blocks. Outside there will be an all weather pitch and other games areas.

The school will accommodate 446 pupils, including 26 in nursery places, and 41 full time equivalent staff. It is anticipated that most of the pupils will come from Green Park Village.

The school will open in a year’s time in summer 2019.

The planning committee will meet on Wednesday 27 June at 6.30 pm at the Civic Offices, Bridge Street, Reading, RG1 2LU and the meeting is expected to be webcast.
