Christ Church invites local people to a special choral evensong on 29 April

Christ Church Reading has invited local people and local groups to a special choral evensong on Sunday 29 April at 6pm, followed by a drinks reception at 6.45pm.

Revd Peter Day, the vicar of the church, and the curate Revd Liz Ratcliffe said that Christ Church Reading is especially interested in inviting local people who have not experienced choral evensong before:

At Christ Church we are fortunate to have a wonderful choir, drawn from the local community, who are committed to sharing the finest music in the choral church tradition and who sing Choral Evensong most Sundays in term time.

Choral evensong at Christ Church lasts 45 minutes and is free and open to all:

We believe that Choral Evensong is one of the great cultural creations of our country. It is a short service consisting of magnificent music combined with readings and prayers, in a tradition that dates back to the time of Henry VIII.

The address of the church is Christ Church, Christchurch Road, Reading RG2 7AR.
