Healthwatch for Reading and Wokingham may merge

By Jason Hilbourne.

Reading Borough Council (RBC) wants the views of local health and social care service users on replacing separate Reading and Wokingham Healthwatches with a single one covering both boroughs.

Reading Healthwatch is an organisation that shares the public’s views on local hospitals, pharmacies, social care, GPs and dentists with the people providing these services.

RBC and Wokingham Borough Council think they could save £44,000 between them by merging their respective healthwatches.

RBC’s public consultation runs until Tuesday 6 February 2018.
