Katesgrove Community Association AGM on 15 November

Katesgrove Community Association (KCA) holds its annual general meeting (AGM) on Wednesday 15 November at Katesgrove Primary School. Attendees should arrive at the Dorothy Street entrance at 6.30pm ready for a 7pm meeting start.

KCA chair Abby Knowles said that the AGM provides an opportunity for Katesgrove residents to meet neighbours interested in making the area a better place to live. It is also an ideal forum for local residents to learn about the KCA’s community initiatives, which include events, environmental care and crime prevention.

“It is rewarding to see little things making a positive impact on our community’s life!” said Abby Knowles.

Reading mayor and Katesgrove councillor Rose Williams

Mayor of Reading and Katesgrove councillor Rose Williams will open the meeting, which is expected to last over an hour and includes light refreshments. The first half will include a short annual report. Representatives of the council’s neighbourhood initiative teams and Thames Valley Police will stay during the second half when the meeting splits into workshops to discuss neighbourhood action groups, crime prevention, the mini-police, the community allotment, events and environmental initiatives. The agenda is available here.

Katesgrovians will be able to elect the KCA committee at the meeting. You can nominate (willing) candidates at the meeting, or by email or Facebook by noon on Wednesday 15 November.

The school car park will be closed, and attendees are requested to come on foot or by bicycle, or by catching a lift from a neighbour or friend. The KCA can be emailed at katesgrovecommunity@gmail.com or contacted on Facebook.
