SGN apologises for slow work and disruption on Christchurch Road

SGN’s summer-long gas mains replacement works on Kendrick Road have been causing major traffic disruption at the top of Whitley, even though for some of the time no-one has been working at the site.

SGN corporate communcations manager Chloe Boyce explained that they didn’t have a team on-site on Friday 5 May because they’d had an issue with the contractor.

“We’re now using a new contractor and expecting improved productivity with longer days worked,” she said, adding that they intend to manually control the traffic lights at peak times.

“We are very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused and would like to thank local residents and motorists for their patience.”

The SGN complaints department can be phoned on 0800 912 1702 or emailed at customer@sgn.co.uk. You may need to quote project reference XW051SEN32575, especially if you want to tell them when no-one is working at the site!
