National Student Volunteering Week is coming!

By Jason Hilbourne.

Reading University Students’ Union (RUSU) is taking part in National Student Volunteering Week from 20 to 26 February, and is on the hunt for community-based volunteering projects or services where a group of keen volunteers could make a real impact.

National Student Volunteering Week aims to offer students a wide range of different volunteering projects and services in their local area, giving them the opportunity to see the benefits and rewards of giving up a few hours each week to help the local community.

Perhaps you have a community hall that needs a repaint, or a playground or grass area that needs a spruce up? Or do you know a group of isolated individuals who would benefit from a chance to meet up over a cup of tea and some homemade cake?

If you run a project or service that could use the help, please contact RUSU’s volunteering co-ordinator Hannah Geddes by phone on 01183 784156 or email at volunteer@reading.ac.uk.
