The WHSmith community grant

By Jason Hilbourne.

The WHSmith Trust is offering grants to voluntary organisations from the proceeds of the compulsory carrier bag levies.

You can apply for a grant of up to £500. Grants are awarded to charities, schools & community groups of any size, provided they support the community in the UK. There are two annual application rounds; applications are reviewed and grants issued at the end of each six month period.

You can apply online for the next round of funding, which runs from March to September 2017.

The following types of organisation are eligible to apply:

  • Registered or exempt charities
  • Voluntary and community groups (constituted)
  • Schools and pre-schools.
