Whitley neighbourhood police attempt to stop dangerous parking

Northumberland Avenue

Officers from Thames Valley Police have spoken to motorists stopping on school clear zones and double yellow lines on Exbourne Road, and vehicles have been moved on when attempting to park on zebra crossing zigzags on Northumberland Avenue, said PCSO Clive Jackman in this month’s Whitley and Church neighbourhood policing report.

PCSO Jackman also said that there had been speed checks at the Whitley Wood Road junction with Hartland Road, on Northumberland Avenue outside the Academy Leisure Centre, and on Basingstoke Road opposite National Tyres.

Neighbourhood policing officers arrested a male wanted after a walk-in theft and PCSO Jackman added that there had been a drop in reports of illegal motorbike, mini moto and quad bike use. He added that there had been two reports of road traffic collisions where riders had left the scene and where the motorbikes were suspected or confirmed stolen.
