Reading Borough Council’s planning applications committee will consider two significant developments to Katesgrove Hill and Whitley on Wednesday 12 October.
Item 14 refers to application 151034, the conversion of 35 Christchurch Road from a 12 bedroom HMO (house in multiple occupation) to 10 self contained units. This property is at the corner of Christchurch Road and Kendrick Road within the Christchurch Conservation Area.
Item 15 covers future development of the Worton Grange site between Basingstoke Road and Imperial Way in Whitley. Outline planning permission was granted in April 2016 for up to 175 new homes in application 151944, together with full planning permission for commercial and retail units. The application (161496) before the committee relates to the approval of reserved matters for appearance, landscaping, layout and scale within that outline application.
Earlier items (item 8) on the agenda include performance and other statistics. These reveal that 1,321 planning applications were validated in 2015/16 and 1,237 planning decisions made. 1,215 applications were validated and 1,041 decisions made in the previous year
The planning applications committee will meet on Wednesday 12 October at 6.30 pm in the Council Chamber, Civic Offices, Bridge Street, Reading. Katesgrove councillor Rose Williams is a member of the committee and it is chaired by councillor Marian Livingston. The meeting is expected to be webcast.
