Radis Community Care on Silver Street, who provide personal care and support to over a hundred people in their own homes, was inspected and rated ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in August.
The CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care in England, and they said about the service:
People and relatives felt staff were caring and kind and worked in ways that supported people’s dignity and privacy.
Staff knew how to keep people safe and were aware of the signs of possible abuse and how to report it.
In an otherwise very positive report, the CQC said that the service ‘requires improvement’ in effectiveness:
It was not always clear, where others had given consent on behalf of people, that they had the legal authority to do so.
Radis Community Care is operated by GP Homecare Limited, who also run the service in other parts of the country.
