Whitley Pump joined the Friends of Waterloo Meadows on the evening of 10 August as they carried out their tasks to maintain and enhance the meadows.

This year they seeded another bed of wildflowers (pictured above). The evening’s work was on their allotment plot where there is a nursery of small trees that was becoming overgrown.

Friends of Waterloo Meadows meet on alternate Wednesday evenings during the summer months for a couple of hours and one Saturday morning a month all year round. The tasks contribute to the beauty and biodiversity of this local open space which stretches along the banks of the River Kennet in Katesgrove.

The next evening meeting is Wednesday 24 August at 6.30pm

The next weekend morning meeting is Saturday 20 August 10am to 1pm

The group meets at Katesgrove Children’s Centre, Elgar Road, RG2 0BN.

The Friends welcome new participants, if you are interested contact: waterloo@econetreading.org.uk
